FROM THE WEBMASTER'S DESK!
The Web-Site “Biscoe Gang” has been launched for the first tme. It symbolizes the high values and traditions
on which glorious edifice of our school is built. These values are uprightness, discipline, self reliance, all round development
of personality and honesty in word and deed. They set apart a great institution which does not consist merely of bricks. Both
the teachers and the students have made handsome contribution in our institution. We can take pride in the fact that many
of our students have played an eminent role in different walks of life. We shall always remember the dedicated services of
Rev. J.M. Ray, who devoted their lives to the cause of education and upliftment of the people in this far-flung and backward
region of the sub-continent. We are, indeed fortunate in having as our Principal Mr. Parwez Samuel Koul, who belongs to the
brigade of selfless, dedicated teachers. He always has the interests of school’s students at his heart and, stuck to
the unprecedented situation created by extraneous forces. We can look at the last academic year with satisfaction. We can
proudly say that all the activities, under and outdoor were carried according to the school calendar.

THE PRINCIPAL WRITES...
On a rainy day on May 7, 1985, I arrived in Srinagar with my wife Joyce and two small children Rahul Rex, our son 8 yrs
and Radhika Rachel 2 yrs plus, to be greeted by a harsh cold climate totally unexpected for the month of May and the then
Principal Rev. John Mead Ray, waving a stay order by a local court against my appointment and trying to assure me that it
was nothing but a gamut of some disgruntled, overqualified employee and that it will be soon cleared in a week’s time.
He also handed me a copy of the memoirs of Canon CE Tyndale Biscoe called 50 years Against The Stream by Eric-Tyndale Biscoe
with his own remarks on the title page, wishing the Deputy Principal (?) Parwez Samuel Koul good luck and that it was still
against the stream after a quarter of a century of John and Catherine Rays involvement with Biscoe phenomenon in Kashmir.
I have for the last seventeen years learnt the same lesson over and over again, which has only strengthened my faith in the
existence of the will of God and his blessings on the project called Tyndale-Biscoe and Mallinson Schools in Kashmir (Estd.1876).
